Nanosurf AG is a supplier of microscopes with scanning probes. Its products are developed and manufactured for commercial and scientific research as well as for educational purposes by an experienced team of engineers and physicists at its headquarters in Liestal, Switzerland. Nanosurf microscopes are distributed worldwide through subsidiaries and a large partner network.
Challenge
From the outset, the complexity of Nanosurf’s business required precise optimization of time and resources.
A particular challenge lay in handling large component lists with many sub-components, long purchasing times for components, and difficult traceability.
Solution
By choosing DATA UNIT and SAP Business One, Nanosurf was able to unify its workflows and transactions in a single, internal ERP system, thereby greatly simplifying its day-to-day business.

Result
Through successful collaboration with DATA UNIT, the problem of working with long component lists was eliminated using SAP Business One, and the control and traceability of products and materials was simplified.
The integration with SAP has enabled the elimination of redundant manual processes and streamlined the planning and implementation of manufacturing processes. Specifically, Nanosurf AG now manages its inventory quickly and accurately through the automation of material requirements planning (MRP). This results in improvements in both the production and sales of its products.
SAP Business One will continue to support Nanosurf in the integrated handling of its purchasing, manufacturing and sales processes in the long term.
