Robatech AG, headquartered in Muri (AG), is a leading global manufacturer of sustainable adhesive application solutions. The implementation of SAP Business ByDesign at its subsidiaries worldwide creates the foundation for consistent data and processes.
Challenge
Adhesive bonding processes should be environmentally friendly, safe, and simple. Robatech has remained true to this motto since 1975. The company’s portfolio includes everything needed for high-quality hot and cold adhesive application: from melting systems and conveying units, controllers, application heads, and accessories to complete system solutions. The family-owned company has subsidiaries or representatives in over 80 countries.
Solution
Robatech evaluated various systems, including SAP Business One and SAP Business ByDesign. The latter proved ideal for Robatech’s strategy: This solution involves first setting up an organizational structure with the desired content. In Robatech’s case, the system is implemented at the subsidiaries, creating standardized workflows and processes. “Changes are automatically applied, and master data can be easily shared,” explains Robatech IT manager Charles Franks.
Because the software runs entirely in the cloud, there is no need for on-site servers and their maintenance: Users can log in and work with the system from anywhere using laptops or mobile devices. SAP Business ByDesign is hosted externally as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and performs regular, automatic system updates.
Result
Through digitalization and automated, standardized processes, future growth is to be achieved with a disproportionately low personnel cost. With SAP Business ByDesign, Robatech is now able to keep pace with its rapid company development. “We want to continue growing profitably. To achieve this, we need to continuously develop our processes and systems and utilize new digital opportunities,” explains Caccetta.
The new solution offers Robatech significantly more possibilities and advantages in the long term than previous systems: from digital invoice workflows and serial number traceability to the integration of ERP and CRM systems via state-of-the-art interfaces. Following the two go-lives at the subsidiaries in Germany and the Netherlands, Manuel Caccetta notes: “We had our day-to-day operations under control within a short time and were generating invoices again from the third day onward – that’s no small feat.”
